Today echoed much of what we’ve seen this week — quiet, slow-moving, and full of potential but not quite ready.
If you’ve been reading these journal entries, you’ll know by now that the end of the month is notoriously tricky to trade. It’s not that the markets stop — it’s that clarity disappears. Price rarely respects structure when big money is shifting books, and this is the time of month when discipline trumps everything.
📅 Major Data on Deck
Tomorrow is huge.
We’ve got:
🔥 FOMC — arguably the most market-moving event of the year
🔥 Canadian CPI
🔥 Australian CPI
Each of those is enough to move markets on its own. All three on the same day? That’s a cocktail for fireworks.
It’s so tempting to jump in early, front-run the moves, try and anticipate the reaction…
But we don’t do “guesswork” here.
We wait, we observe, and we position only when the structure supports it.
It would be naive to think the FX market makers are going to show their hand before Powell even steps up to the mic.
📈 USD/CAD Update
Yesterday’s USD/CAD idea did play out.
We sent the long setup to subscribers this morning — and it came within 2 pips of hitting TP. Classic.
But here’s the thing — with CAD CPI and FOMC incoming, this pair is going to get thrown around like a rag doll.
That’s not a bad thing — it’s just something that needs active management.
✅ Set your stop to breakeven and let the market decide — no emotion, no revenge trades.
✅ If it hits, great. If it breaks even, that’s still control.
🧠 Final Thoughts
This is trading.
It’s not about doing something every day.
It’s about being ready when it counts.
Tomorrow is one of those days. Stay sharp.
