We kick off August with a win β and a reminder of just how choppy and inconsistent summer markets can be. Thin volume, erratic moves, and price action that loves to probe stop zones. Textbook summer liquidity games.
As always, we approach these conditions with caution. Low participation often creates outsized moves that don’t reflect broader sentiment β just shelves of liquidity being swept for fuel.
π Signs of Life: Dollar Reassertion
That said, there are signs of life. The USD is still trying to reassert itself. After Fridayβs softer NFP print, we saw a healthy retracement on the DXY β but the structure remains intact for a possible continuation.
π§ Pairs on the Radar
β USDCAD and USDCHF are both holding strong shapes, and we like how theyβre developing. β EURCAD and EURNZD are also beginning to show their hand with more defined cycles setting up.
π― AUDNZD Long: Counter-Trend Precision
Today, we went long AUDNZD. I made it clear to the group β this was a counter-trend move against the market makers’ pattern, so higher failure risk was baked in.
Still, we got a classic CHOCH and BOS entry, and the trade is sitting +20 pips at the time of writing.
π§ Discipline Over Distraction
We continue to take it one day at a time, trusting structure over noise.
See you tomorrow.
